A dazzling ceremony was held for the dedication of 92 MW Floating Solar Power Project at NTPC-Kayamkulam to the Nation on 30th July, 2022 by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India through video conferencing. The pre-dedication programme commenced at NTPC-Kayamkulam at 12:15 P.M.

Adv. A.M. Arif, Hon’ble M.P. (Alappuzha), Shri S.K. Ram, General Manager, NTPC-Kayamkulam, Shri M. Balasundaram, AGM (HR), Shri Anand Maruti Malak, AGM (O&M/RE-Solar), Smt. Sajini K., President, Chingoli Gram Panchayat and other officials of NTPC, Tata Power Solar & BHEL were present on the occasion. The programme began with NTPC Geet followed by Lighting of Lamp by the dignitaries.

In his welcome address, GM, NTPC-Kayamkulam said that the future lies with renewable energy. This humble beginning will go a long way in changing the power map of Kerala as well as India. He congratulated the Team Solar and concerned agencies for successfully completing the project inspite of various challenges including Covid-19.

Adv. A.M. Arif, Hon’ble M.P., in his address expressed his desire to revive the Gas Project by using Naphtha/LNG and congratulated NTPC for the accomplishment of the 92 MW Floating Solar Power Project.

The programme of Hon’ble Prime Minister started at 12:45 PM. The Prime Minister’s programme included interaction with beneficiaries of various schemes such as Saubhagya, DDUGJY, IPDS etc.

Thereafter, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, dedicated NTPC’s Ramagundam Floating Solar Project (100 MW) in Telangana & Kayamkulam Floating Solar Project (92 MW) in Kerala, to the Nation through Video Conferencing. Hon’ble Prime Minister also laid the Foundation Stone of NTPC’s Nokh Solar Project (735 MW) in Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Green Hydrogen Mobility Project in Leh, Ladakh and Green Hydrogen-Natural Gas Blending Project in Kawas (Gujarat), virtually.

This programme was organised on the occasion of Grand Finale of Bijlee Mahotsav under the theme Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishaya – Power @ 2047, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

After the dedication ceremony, General Manager, NTPC-Kayamkulam interacted with the media.

There was a gathering of around 500 persons including People’s Representatives, Stake holders, Employees, Family members, CISF Personnel, Associates, Residents of Townships & Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya.

The programme concluded around 02:00 P.M.
